Was good at keeping me dry but wasn't very warm
By Jesse Rorabaugh
I wore these in Anchorage and Fairbanks Alaska in January. These were worn over a pair of expedition weight thermals and fleece pants. When it was colder than -15 I also wore another pair of thermals that were just cotton. I wasn't doing anything extreme, a little light hiking at most.

These pants seemed to do their job well enough. Down to -10 I had no complaints as long as I wore a few layers below them. I am not sure I would ever want to wear just these pants though. At the very least they would need a layer of thermals below them unless you are getting a lot of exercise in fairly warm conditions.

Free Fit! Great Ski & Snowboard Pants
By A. O'Keeffe
The free fit pant has tons of features and is a looser fit for snowboarders. Extra pockets snaps and hooks so you can keep track of all your gear. Got mine as a gift but didn't need them as I had a pair already See this link...
Free Fit Men's Freedom Pant - Zinc Grey - Medium Regular

As for the one other reviewer. There is an INSULATED version if you need for extreme cold. This is intended for cool to cold (10-40 degrees) or for layering.
