Great techie toy
By DAZ
Only issue is battery life, barely lasted past 2pm each day(usual start around 9am), temps were only in the high 20s/low 30s so it may be worse on colder days. Trail map feature is nice, although slightly off on direction so I had to look sideways for what I wanted to see, but I did not play with this feature that much so not sure if the map for my location was off or direction sensor.
Other features like speed and vertical were awesome.
Definitely a must have for techie skiers.

Really cool idea, but battery life is awful
By David R. Hudgens
I really like the idea, and, unlike other reviewers I didn't have any problem with the HUD, either adjusting it or viewing it. But, the battery life is horrible. I never got more than 4 hours out of it (not even close to a full day of skiing), and one day I didn't even get one complete run. I'll grant that that day it was very cold and windy, but really, one run? The battery life app indicates that 98% of the battery usage goes to the operating system. Maybe a future software upgrade could address this somehow. Likewise, the one day that I had the iPhone app (Engage) running my iPhone battery was drained by lunch.

Cool product but has flaws
By Santos M. Discar
I bought these goggles for the technology. It's great. The LCD is a little hard to adjust, but once you nail it, it's pretty cool.

Why only four stars? Because they're Smith IO goggles--just like the Smith IO goggles I had before; except you CANNOT EXCHANGE THE LENSES from the regular Smith IO goggles with the Smith IO Recon goggles. So, if you're like me and you had invested in Smith IO lenses and thought you could use them with the Recons, tough luck.
