I work outside in a mountain community with freezing winters. This beanie works great for me. It keeps my head warm without making my scalp itch. It fits my head pretty well, but I have a really small head for a guy. This beanie may be a bit small for people with large heads. All and all, I'd definitely order it again.

I bought this for a friend of mine go through chemotherapy. She said the fabric is very soft and kept her head warm. It also held up to washing.
